3 Daily Activities that can help you burn 300+ Calories

At rest, your body burns a certain amount of calories to function, it's called Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). In addition, you can exercise to burn even more calories, but you can also do that with simple everyday tasks, which can help you with your weight loss journey.

What about non-recreational activities such as walking, standing, climbing the stairs and cleaning the house? Though these non-intense activities don't burn a lot of calories, they are great for staying active and boosting your body's calorie-burning abilities.

Take a look at these daily activities you might already be doing, and maximize them for better results.

30 minutes - Burns ~75 calories

The number of people working from home is increasing, and it has quickly become the new norm.

Sitting on a chair with poor posture several hours daily can be detrimental to your health. If your job requires you to sit in front of your computer all day, try standing instead of sitting. These calories will add up in the long run.

Get creative and put your keyboard on a stack of books so it’s comfortable for you when you stand while working. It’s even better if you have a desk with an adjustable height.

Walking is one of the most practical and lightest exercises you can do. Almost everyone can do it, especially if you're just starting your training journey.

Aim for 2-3 walks daily, it can also be beneficial for your mental health.

Ask dog owners about the benefits of this daily light exercise. Walking can burn 120 calories for 30 minutes alone, so you might want to go for a walk more often.

Cycling outdoors is fun. By seeing your surroundings, you are more likely to enjoy your ride. Additionally, factors such as hills, steep roads, and wind resistance can help you burn more calories.

The number of calories you burn while cycling depends on your speed. Cycling at a moderate pace, about 12 to 13 miles per hour will help you burn from 200 to 255 calories for 30 minutes.

Try using your bike more often and you'll get better results.
